## यह क्या है और क्यों बना
Requirements में अक्सर तस्वीरें होती हैं: screen layouts, diagrams, photos, signal tables. IBM DOORS Next में किसी artifact के text में रखी गई तस्वीर अपने-आप में एक artifact है, लेकिन requirement को उससे कोई link नहीं जोड़ता। जब कोई तस्वीर बदलता या संपादित करता है, तो impact analysis और traceability views यह नहीं दिखाते कि कौन-सी requirements उस पर निर्भर हैं।

Image Linker किसी module के artifacts (या चुने गए artifacts) के text में embedded हर तस्वीर ढूँढता है और एक ही run में हर artifact से उसकी तस्वीरों तक आपके चुने प्रकार का link बनाता है। चाहें तो यह अन्य embedded artifacts, जैसे embedded tables या diagrams, को भी link करता है।

## यह कौन-सी समस्याएँ हल करता है
- Requirement texts में तस्वीरें जो impact analysis को दिखाई नहीं देतीं।
- बदला हुआ diagram या screen layout, जिसकी प्रभावित requirements कोई नहीं ढूँढ पाता।
- सैकड़ों embedded तस्वीरें जिन्हें हाथ से, artifact दर artifact, link करना पड़ता।
- कोई रिकॉर्ड नहीं कि कौन-से image links मौजूद हैं और कौन-सी तस्वीरें DOORS Next के बाहर से आई हैं।

## लाभ
- **हर बदलाव से पहले preview:** हर embedded तस्वीर To link, Already linked या Not resolvable के रूप में दिखती है।
- **कभी अनुमान नहीं लगाता:** दूसरी websites या servers की तस्वीरें, या text में ही रखी तस्वीरें, केवल सूची में दिखती हैं, कभी link नहीं होतीं।
- **आपका link type और दिशा:** project का कोई भी link type, outgoing या incoming; केवल तस्वीरें या कोई भी embedded artifact।
- **सुरक्षित defaults:** links module context में बनते हैं, जैसे DOORS Next module के अंदर करता है; base artifacts पर links केवल आपके चुनने पर।
- **लंबे runs नियंत्रण में:** किसी भी आकार के पूरे modules, मौजूदा links छोड़े जाते हैं, progress और Stop, बहुत बड़े modules में रुकने के बाद Continue, failures के लिए Retry और Excel change report।

## उपयोग कैसे करें
1. Module के पास ELM Mini Dashboard में widget जोड़ें।
2. **Settings** में **Change** पर क्लिक करें और **Link type**, **Direction** (**Outgoing** या **Incoming**) और **What counts** (**Pictures only** या **Any embedded artifact**) चुनें; **Create the links on base artifacts** तभी चुनें जब links base artifacts पर बनने हों। **Done** पर क्लिक करें।
3. **Links** में **Whole module** चुनें और **Find embedded pictures** पर क्लिक करें, या artifacts चुनकर **Selection** चुनें: चयन अपने-आप जाँचा जाता है। **Embedded items** में artifacts और उनकी तस्वीरें देखें।
4. **Create links** पर क्लिक करें, पुष्टि पढ़ें और **Create N links** पर क्लिक करें। पहले खोज न करने पर पूरे module पर **Create links** एक ही रन में ढूँढता और link करता है।
5. परिणाम ब्लॉक देखें और ज़रूरत हो तो **Log** से change report डाउनलोड करें।

## जानने योग्य बातें
- हर artifact को उसके links बनाने से ठीक पहले फिर से पढ़ा जाता है, इसलिए search के बाद जोड़ी या हटाई गई तस्वीरें भी ध्यान में रहती हैं।
- एक text में एक ही तस्वीर दो बार हो तो एक ही link बनता है; कई artifacts में इस्तेमाल हुई तस्वीर को हर artifact से एक link मिलता है।
- केवल उसी server पर DOORS Next में रखी तस्वीरें link हो सकती हैं; बाकी Not resolvable के रूप में दिखती हैं।
- सूची में thumbnails नहीं, बल्कि नाम और IDs दिखते हैं, इसलिए बहुत बड़े modules में भी browser पर बोझ कम रहता है।
- हमेशा change set में काम करें: बनाए गए लिंक वापस लेने का एकमात्र तरीका उसे त्यागना है।
