Baseline Archiver
Finds every baseline that is not archived across your DOORS Next projects, exports the list to Excel and archives the ones you no longer need.
What it is and why it exists
Baselines are the frozen states of requirements that teams create for reviews, releases and deliveries. Over years of work, projects collect hundreds of them. Every unarchived baseline appears in configuration pickers, makes it harder to find the right one, and adds load to administration.
DOORS Next lets you archive baselines one at a time and only inside each project. Baseline Archiver was created to give administrators and configuration managers one overview of all unarchived baselines on the server and to archive them in bulk.
Problems it solves
- Long, cluttered lists of baselines in which users pick the wrong configuration.
- No single view of baselines across all projects.
- Archiving one baseline at a time, project by project.
- The risk of archiving a baseline that still has streams created from it, without knowing it.
Benefits
- One overview of unarchived baselines in every project you can open, or only in the open project.
- Informed decisions: each baseline shows its project, stream, creation date and the streams created from it.
- Excel export of the list for review and approval by the project owners.
- Bulk archiving with progress, Stop and an Excel change report.
- Tidier configuration pickers and easier administration.
How to use
- Click Find unarchived baselines. In Settings you can limit the search to the open project.
- Review the list. Filter by text or hide baselines that have streams created from them. Click a row for details.
- Export the list to Excel with the download icon if it needs approval.
- Tick the baselines to archive, click Archive baselines (N) and confirm.
- Download the change report from Execution Status.
Good to know
- Archiving a baseline also archives the streams created from it and their baselines. The confirmation says how many such baselines you selected.
- Run it as a JazzAdmin to see every project; projects you cannot open are skipped and counted.
- Archived baselines are not deleted and can be restored in DOORS Next.
